Grading Policy and Classroom Rules
Grading Policy: Grading of students will follow the adopted grading policy of Seminole High School: 50% Daily Work and 50% Tests and Major Grades. Expect more daily grades than major graded assignments during a six week period. I will be available for tutorials before school 7:30 to 8:00 AM and during the designated tutorial period 12:10 to 12:35 PM. If you are failing or struggling with class content by the end of a grading period, why didn’t you come in for help? It is easy to fall behind fast in Physics. If you miss class, make sure that you get the notes and assignments from me or your classmates ASAP. Most assignments are posted online and available 24/7, so, in most cases, there is no excuse for not completing them on time.
We follow the tardy policy set forth in the student handbook. (4th tardy results in a discipline referral)
Dress Code will be enforced according to the student handbook.
Go to the restroom Before class. (don’t tell me you are going to the restroom before class starts)
Turn off your smartphone during class. Ask for permission to use if necessary. There will be times that it is acceptable to use them in class.
No food or drinks in class without special permission.
Always have the proper materials available for class. (Computer, calculator and notebook)
Have assignments completed on time. (10% daily reduction as per student handbook)
Pay attention and listen. (If you are talking, you are not listening)
Be ready to respond intelligently if called upon.
Be respectful of me and your classmates.
Don’t cheat. Don’t ruin my respect for you by being a lousy cheater!
Have fun and learn.
